This one is about a player who feels there is so much pain and hurt in the world of runescape that it all has to stop. He starts a generation of like-minders, and quickly many players around the internet are put into the "don't worry, be happy" thought of things. The best and most efficient way to make a RuneScape Video is through a screen capture program. It's a "program" that let's you "capture" what's happening on your "screen". Pretty simple right? Basically, it allows you to make a recording of you playing RuneScape, and make them into short video clips. It can be anything; you can make a video of you PKing, walking around, killing a monster, whatever.
There's tons of screen capture programs out there if you can be bothered to find it. The one I'm going to present to you is the one I use.
Download the 30-Day Trial version. Yes, you only have 30 days. Of course, there are always certain.. ways.. to get around it... but I won't go there.
Umm.. yeah. Anywho, once it's installed, simply open up Camtasia Recorder, set the Input to Window, and click on the Record button. Now you'll need to specify what Window on your screen to record. Click on your RuneScape Browser. SHAZAMO! It's recording.
DO NOT MAKE YOUR RECORDINGS TOO LONG! The longer it is, the bigger the file size of the video, and a humongous file size is the last thing we want. When you're done recording, click on the Stop button. Now it'll ask you to save your recording as an AVI Video file. Save it anywhere you want.
Ta-da! You have your Video! Just one problem... AVI files are the DEVIL. Well, almost. Video Files in this format have a BIGGG file size, and we don't want that. Open up the main Camtasia Studio program. On the top left, click on Import Video under the Import heading. Select the AVI Video file you just made, and it'll be added to your clip bin. Right click on it, and select Add to Timeline.
Now you're basically done. You can actually add as many videos to the timeline as you want, and even add music and sounds, but keep in mind the file size. Go to File, Produce Video As, and select Windows Media (WMV) streaming media file. Keep clicking next, making any changes to the default settings (if any) as you go along. When you finally click on Finish, you have your video!
Just a note; WMV files have horrible quality. Your Video WILL be badly distorted. However, in terms of compression, it's the best to use. Always keep in mind the file size.
Now, the only thing left is to upload it onto a web server. That can be tricky, as it is hard to find a good place to host your videos. But I'm sure you can figure something out. Do NOT go with something like Geocities, as your vids will eat up your puny bandwidth like chocolate cookies. If nothing else, use Angelfire.
